Farsummer ("Farsummer," "we," "us," or "our") provides software for modeling and visualizing the estimated cost of corporate decarbonization pathways and the potential impact of new technologies.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Farsummer website, software platform, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways.

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account or log in, we may collect information such as:

  • name;
  • email address;
  • authentication identifiers;
  • profile information;
  • account settings.

If you log in using Google OAuth, Google may provide us with basic account information such as your name, email address, profile image, and Google account identifier.

1.2 User-Generated Content

When you use the Service, you may create, submit, or save information such as:

  • technologies;
  • technology descriptions;
  • impacted abatement options;
  • cost reduction assumptions;
  • company collections;
  • company mix overrides;
  • abatement cost overrides;
  • notes, preferences, and configuration settings.

We use this information to provide the Service, personalize your workspace, and generate user-specific views and analyses.

1.3 Usage and Technical Information

We may automatically collect certain technical information necessary to operate, secure, debug, and maintain the Service, such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • device type;
  • operating system;
  • log data;
  • error reports;
  • dates and times of access;
  • referring URLs.

We do not currently use third-party analytics tools.

If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.

2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

Farsummer is not designed to collect sensitive personal information.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the Service, such as:

  • Social Security numbers;
  • government identification numbers;
  • financial account numbers;
  • health information;
  • precise personal location information;
  • information about children;
  • confidential or regulated third-party information that you are not authorized to provide.

The Service is intended for business and professional use.

3. Corporate, Public, and Modeled Data

Farsummer uses public corporate disclosures, sustainability reports, transition plans, emissions data, cost references, and other publicly available or derived business information to generate modeled outputs.

This corporate, market, and modeled company information is generally not personal information about individual users.

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect from users of the Service.

4. AI-Assisted Data Processing and Modeling

Farsummer's baseline datasets, taxonomy mappings, abatement pathway estimates, cost estimates, and other modeled outputs may be created using AI-assisted extraction, classification, summarization, research, and modeling applied to public corporate disclosures and other business information.

The live Service does not currently use AI inference to process user-created content.

We do not currently send user-created technologies, collections, overrides, notes, preferences, or account information to third-party AI model providers for inference or model training.

If we add live AI features or begin using AI model providers to process user-created content, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.

5. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
  • authenticate users and manage accounts;
  • personalize workspaces and saved configurations;
  • store user-created technologies, collections, and overrides;
  • generate user-specific views and analyses;
  • secure, debug, and troubleshoot the Service;
  • monitor for misuse, unauthorized access, or security issues;
  • communicate with users about the Service;
  • respond to support requests;
  • enforce our Terms of Service;
  • comply with legal obligations.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising tools.

We may share information in the following limited circumstances.

6.1 Service Providers

We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the Service, such as:

  • hosting providers;
  • database and backend infrastructure providers;
  • authentication providers;
  • email or communication providers;
  • security, logging, and monitoring providers.

Current or expected service providers may include:

  • Supabase, for database, authentication, and backend infrastructure;
  • Vercel, for hosting and deployment;
  • Google OAuth, if you choose to log in using Google;
  • email or communication providers, if needed for support or service-related messages.

These providers process information on our behalf to help us provide the Service.

6.2 Legal Compliance and Protection

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law, legal process, or governmental requests;
  • protect the rights, safety, or property of Farsummer, users, or others;
  • investigate fraud, security issues, or misuse of the Service;
  • enforce our Terms of Service;
  • prevent harm or illegal activity.

6.3 Business Transfers

If Farsummer is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We may share information when you direct us to do so or otherwise provide consent.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to:

  • keep users logged in;
  • authenticate users;

  • secure the Service;
  • operate core product functionality.

We do not currently use cookies for third-party advertising or analytics.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Service;
  • maintain your account;
  • operate user workspaces;
  • comply with legal obligations;
  • resolve disputes;
  • enforce agreements;
  • maintain security and backup systems.

If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account, subject to reasonable backup, legal, security, and operational requirements.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information.

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not intended for children under 18.

Farsummer is operated from the United States.

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
